Protecting Your KU Online ID & Password
Your KU Online ID and password are your keys to most of KU's online services including: KU email, Blackboard, Enroll & Pay, myKU Portal and many more. Passwords may be changed at any time, but all users must change their password every 210 days. KU IT strongly recommends that you do not share your KU Online ID password with anyone, including parents and guardians.
Passwords are an essential aspect of your computer security. By preventing unauthorized access to your accounts, passwords are a critical first line of defense for your electronic resources. Sharing your password can compromise your accounts, as well as University systems. Sharing personal account information is also a leading cause of identity theft. If you share your KU Online password, you give others access to everything you can access with your KU Online ID. You may even be responsible for anything they do while their logged in with your credentials. Sharing your account with someone else is a violation of the KU Password Policy and may cause you to lose access privileges and be subject to disciplinary actions.
